This spring in NSW has started with a few rainy weeks in a raw. So we’ve planned a 4 days escape for a beach holidays and better weather, chasing the summer. New destination is explored and I cant wait to share the beauty around. This is also an idea of a short holidays for you if you are planning an escape from Sydney. I am probably getting spoiled, so sometimes some places in Australia looks same to me lol. But this trip was incredibly unique and so so so beautiful! Hidden gem and remote heaven.

We travel as usual with our Challenger, driving from Sydney all the way to our destination, with a few stops to relax and check surf spot for waves or look outs for cool views and photos to share with you.
Traveling north from the city ideally you need to leave around 5.00 – 5.30 in the morning to avoid emerging traffic in the city. Overall the way without the traffic is about 4 hours. To break the trip and see new places we stopped on the way a couple of time for a bath and surf and, of course, some photos and videos.
First two stops:
Seal Rocks
And some 4 wheels drive on the beach.
For driving on the beach, you will need to obtain permission from a council of a local area. Sometimes you can do it online. Sometimes you’ll need to find the office (e.g. in Taree).
For finding places, we simply use Google Maps in Satellite view, WaveFinder pocket guide and recently purchased 4 WD drive Make Trax Guide, where we’ve found information about Crowdy Bay and places around it.
There are so many beautiful lookouts in Australia and around NSW. This one probably is now the Number One in our lookouts rating. North Brother in Laurenton. And we are close to the Diamond Head Campground.
Diamond Head camping area was great, cause there is a beach right in front.
Here we are in our little tent that we’ve set there for 3 nights.
The next morning after we woke up and went to explore area around Diamond Head – ready for a bush and forest walks!
And a little bit of history…
In Love with the smell of this plant! Everywhere around Diamond Head. Does anyone know what is it?
The area is absolutely stunning, so many breathtaking views and places.
